Review: Wonder

Wonder Wonder by R.J. Palacio
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There are books where you have so much to talk about and then there are books where you want to talk about them but don't have any words that'll do any justice to how good the book was!
Wonder had both - good and bad moments. But over all, Ireally enjoyed reading it.
I'll have a video review on www.youtube.com/c/jasminedayal very soon

A Video Everyday In May

I am doing a video every day in May to celebrate my birthday month with all of you. So far, I am really enjoying the whole experience and even though my exams begin from the 9th of May, I am hoping to not miss a upload because this year, I am testing my limits. See, I know I love making videos, editing them and then uploading them. It is quite taxing but I enjoy it. And that is what inspires me to keep posting these videos. I am hoping to update the blog too, on a daily basis but let's see how things shape up!

I have linked the playlist which contains all of my videos for the month of May. It'll be updated every day. I hope you'll enjoy the videos. Please make sure that you leave your comments on my videos - They mean a lot to me!

Review: It's All in the Planets

It's All in the Planets It's All in the Planets by Preeti Shenoy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I've always loved Preeti Shenoy's writing and this book too, helps me prove it. The way she always weaves the story around real relations and makes you feel as if you really know the character in person, the way she makes you giggle, love the friendship, yearn for the love described in the book and the way she puts that ultimate surprise element in it, I can do nothing but sing praises for her. India is really blessed to have a female writer like her! Absolutely loved how the main characters met and how emphasis was given on following your heart, on doing what makes you truly happy. Really loved how , in a very subtle manner, Preeti questioned the age old practise of marrying someone you dont know at all and that too at a time when you don't feel quite ready about it! I'll have detailed review up on my channel very soon https://www.youtube.com/c/jasminedayal

Review: The Mother I Never Knew: Two Novellas

The Mother I Never Knew: Two Novellas The Mother I Never Knew: Two Novellas by Sudha Murty
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ah! I am glad to be back on the reading 'train'. It just feels so good to finish a book in a day!

This is the second Sudha Murty book that I've read and absolutely loved. The way she weaves the stories, creates the characters and makes you feel a part of their lives - I love it! From talking about money minded people to illegitimate children to adoptive parents and their love - the book has it all! The eagerness of the protagonists to know about their birth mother is really relateable but the way Mukesh (the second novella) rests his loyalty with his adoptive mother is really endearing to read.
I really loved that the book was fast paced, difficult to put down for even a minute and had a stories that one could easily relate to. The use of simple English made it even more engaging and helped me connect with all the characters easily! I recommend it to all those who are interested in light family dramas and like stories with emotionally driven subjects.

Review: Laiza- Sometimes the end is only a Beginning

Laiza- Sometimes the end is only a Beginning Laiza- Sometimes the end is only a Beginning by Kudrat Dutta Chaudhary
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*My Bookish Talk for the bookis here
Before penning down the review for this book, I want to congratulate Kudrat for this really amazing book. She has done a fantastic job with this book and I am really proud of her.
Laiza- Sometimes the end is only a beginning - It is one of the best books I've read this year! I am sure it'll stay with me for the longest time. We all are aware of the kind of destruction a natural calamity is capable of but are we aware of what the people who go through all this suffer from? Are we aware of their problems? Are we aware of the fact that some people find happiness in the misery of others?
I've shared my thoughts about the book in my video and I can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Review: Six Degrees

Six Degrees Six Degrees by BlogAdda
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I can't believe it took me a month to finish this book *DAMN YOU COLLEGE*

Thank you BlogAdda for sending me this book. My 'VIDEO REVIEW' will be up on my channel very soon.

The book is a collaborative effort of bloggers who were a part of three teams namely - 'By Lines', 'Potliwale Baba' and Tete-a-Ten. All the three stories trace the lives of Shekhar, Tara, Roohi, Cyrus and Jennifer. The most amazing aspect of this collaborative effort is that even though the characters are same, the stories are not at all repetitive and boring. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of all the three parallel worlds. Roohi, in all the three stories, is such an interesting character - I fell in love with her! I wish I could pack her up and keep her with me for the rest of my life ;)

I enjoyed reading the book but I do think that the first story could have been a bit more gripping and the second story could have been a bit shorter. I had to skip a few paragraphs here and there just to keep my interest intact in the story!
Overall, I really applaud all the participants and BlogAdda for this amazing collaborative effort.

I'll talk about the book in detail on my channel - Everything Bookish

Back at it again!

I just don't see myself doing anything without this blog! I mean, I haven't posted anything n ages yet I can't take a decision of deleting it and probably starting afresh! I have changed its theme, its name, the kind of posts I'd want to put up here so many times but still failed quite a lot!

I think that has to change
And what better time than today?

Yes, you read it right! I am once again back on this blog, along with my YouTube Channel
I am still going to make a few changes here and there to the blog because I've decided to not restrict myself to just posting book related blog posts so please bear with me while I figure out what all I'd like to include in this revamped blog!
To all those who have been with me, even when I just went MIA, Thank you! you are amazing and I'll try my level best to not disappoint you anymore!
