An eventful day

Few days ago, on the 23rd of this month, I completed two decades on this Earth. I was very excited. Had been waiting for it since a very long time.As the days came near, i was rather sad than happy, it was an emotional transition! On one hand where I thought about the freedom it brought along with it, I was equally dejected of not being able to celebrate it with my family. Dad was out of town, mother ill, sister preparing for exams. I felt miserable. There was a phase when i even wanted to hate the day. Amidst all the mental torture that i had built up, My elder sister came with her daughter to celebrate my birthday.
Excited, was I? I guess calling that feeling "excitement" would be an understatement! Seeing my niece decked up in a Punjabi suit and a lot of makeup which she claimed to have done herself, She was looking not less than a princess! Friends, family called and wished me. I was suddenly feeling on top of the world! Celebrating your best day with your family is not less than a blessing.
We cut a cake, had snacks and that's when my niece decided to entertain us. She sang Punjabi Boliyan and danced to their tune. She is no professional dancer but the way she synced her steps with the wordings was simply incredible. I fell in love with her all over again! I was so happy with the way she danced that i made a decision to give her a token of love. I took her in my room and hugged her as hard as I could and squeezed in a note of Rs 50 in her hands. She revolted but I asked her to buy her favorite Ice Cream with the money without bothering her parents. The glow in her eyes is just unexplainable.
I am generally never happy in giving money to people without any reason. But here, I did it out of love I have for my niece. My happiness lies in her happiness. I want to see her successful in whatever she takes up. If such encouragement can help her realize her dream, then why not do it?

The day really was not less than a event for me! .
Feedback is welcome... It keeps me inspired.. Thanks for reading :)
